Administrator and Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Saturday said that COVID-19 is spreading quite rapidly in Karachi and cooperation between citizens and administration is essential to cope with the novel coronavirus.
While talking to Senior Director Municipal Services and officers of Fire Brigade, Shallwani said that we could only save ourselves from the COVID-19 through preventive measures. He said that building of KMC was cleaned with chlorine mixed water. The building was also disinfected and fumigation was also done.
The Administrator said that to save the lives of employees and officers is their priority that’s why all possible measures were adopted safeguard the human lives. He said that like other parts of Pakistan, COVID-19 is spreading in Karachi as well and there is dire need to adopt precautionary measures.
Shallwani said that second wave of COVID-19 had done more damage and the people should adopt preventive measures, maintain social distance and avoid unnecessary go out. He said that the only way to save ourselves from the COVID-19 until the vaccine came into play is preventive measures.
According to spokesman of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the building was cleaned with chlorine mixed water and disinfection liquid was sprayed. Although, there is holiday on Saturday but it was especially opened for cleanliness.
It may be mentioned here that an employee having COVID-19 deliberately entered the office of Director Human Resources Management that's why special cleanliness was arranged.
While strict action would be taken against employee namely Shahzad Anwar as per law.
