  Mr. Tolga Ucak for visiting the KMC office and his offer for cooperating with the local administration.

  Turkish Consul General Mr.Tolga Ucak on Wednesday called on Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed and expressed his country's interest in modernizing the transport system in Karachi. Mr. Tolga Ucak felicitated Ahmed on assuming the office of the Administrator and said that Turkey gives huge importance to Pakistan's biggest city, Karachi, adding that they are willing to support local administration for uplifting infrastructure and transport system. The Consul General said that historical buildings including the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's building are beauty of Karachi. Laeeq Ahmed expressed gratitude to Mr. Tolga Ucak for visiting the KMC office and his offer for cooperating with the local administration. He said that progress would be witnessed soon on different projects including the tram service in Karachi. He said that Karachi has unique importance owing to its geographical situation. "The city was not very old but it was established with proper planning as it had every facility and infrastructure," he added. Ahmed said that Karachi is a industrial hub of Pakistan and provides employments to hundreds of thousands of people. All out measures are being taken to uplift civic facilities and infrastructure of the city that have given fruitful results. The Administrator said that for the very first time in Pakistan's history, the federal government is providing 50 fire tenders to KMC's fire brigade. He hoped that these tenders would cater the need of the city. He said that city wardens would also be trained and given technical assistance so that they could also be used in rescue works for extinguishing the fire. He said that Turkey and Pakistan have good and friendly relations, adding that these relations would be expanded. Ahmed said that he had served in the federation as well as in the province on different positions but serving Karachi is honour for him. The Administrator also presented traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap to Mr. Tolga Ucak. The Consul General along with the Administrator visited different parts of the KMC building. He also had glimpse of the city from rooftop of the KMC building.
