	Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed on Friday said that encroachments have been removed around main gate of Shahab ud din market. Special operation was conducted as promised to office bearers of Shahab ud din market's union and illegally built restaurants, tea shops and walls are raised while pushcarts and cabins have been seized. After removal of encroachment, boundary wall of the market would be increased, the Administrator passed these remarks while reviewing encroachment removal operation at Shahab ud din market by Estate department of KMC. The Administrator said that in the initial phase, 425 shops were alloted to shopkeepers but the they were unable to carry out business due to encroachment. He said that the shopkeepers were shifted to temporary market in Lones area in 2007. He hoped that after removal of encroachment removal, the shopkeepers would be able to carry out thier businesses. Ahmed said that Shahab ud din market is main business point as it is established right in the centre of Karachi. "All-out measures are being taken to restore the market," he addded. The Administrator said that it is responsibility of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to provide facilities to the common citizens as well as the businessmen. Meanwhile on directives of Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Anti-Encroachment Senior Director Basheer Siddiqui led a operation at Shahab ud din market at removed all sorts of encroachment. Director Anti Encroachment Districts South and Director Estate Imran Siddiqui, Deputy Director Asif Jetha, Nauman Ahmed, police and Rangers personnel also took part in the operation.
